Sound for films :

Short films. Adverts. Music Videos. Animation. Feature Films. Blockbusters. TV. Computer Games. The moving pictures are everywhere. With them, trudging along, is the sound and the sound engineer.

Always there to record the original sound; (location recording for a documentary, or an outdoor scene on a film, or in the news van near some protest, outside an embassy, etc.)
Or to replace the original dialogue and re-record sounds & effects with something of better quality. (In some dark corner of the studio, usually at the last minute).
Or to mix the sound, effects and music. Added to these already complex set of jobs and skills that a post production sound engineer has, we have on top of all the different formats, technologies and workflows that occur in different countries, different mediums -TV, cinema, etc- different standards on different continents and so on...

A mind-bogglingly complex world, where a good sound engineer will save you time and most importantly money and a lot of -potential- embarrassment!

In a world where Pro Tools is the king i'm one of the people with intimate knowledge of the software.

I can certainly assemble and mix the sound of an advert, short film, or feature film in the desired format and according to all international standards.

I have practical knowledge of synchronizing multiple Pro Tools Systems using Satellite Link;
Avid ISIS 7000 storage systems;
Linear and Non-Linear output delivery workflows;
Configuring Machine Control for Audio Layback;
Calibrating HD-Series Audio Interfaces;
Hardware Configuration and Troubleshooting (Firmware, Digitest, Audio/Video Pull Options, DSP resources);
Knowledge of RedNet Audio and Dante.

I have a working understanding of the basics of TCP/IP networking, access control lists, authentication, authorization and file sharing, via CIFS protocol"
